So, this is the first post! Let me introduce myself.
I’m Shannon, a US-based food blogger with a keen interest in imagining a better world. I’ll admit, that’s not always easy to do, but as a mother I feel I must try.
I’ve always liked learning about people and trying to understand how they live. There are so many people across the world, some with careers, some who are stay-at-home or work-from-home parents like me, and for sure many who are just trying to survive. I find it so interesting to learn about the different requirements that different people have that make their lifestyles possible. Two things that we all need, no matter what, are a hospitable planet and nourishing food.
I decided to create The Low Carbon Kitchen as a personal project to gather and document sustainable recipes and cooking methods. My hope is to shed some light on food ideas that are more planet- and people-friendly.
